HIRAM, OHIO — The Hiram College women’s soccer team was defeated by Ohio Wesleyan University, 2-0, tonight (Wednesday, Oct. 20) in a North Coast Athletic Conference game at the Hiram Soccer Complex. [Game Stats]
With the loss, the Terriers drop to 4-11-2 overall and 0-5 in the NCAC. The Battling Bishops improve to 4-8-3 overall and 1-3-1 NCAC.
OWU got on the board at the 27:25 minute mark of the first half with a goal from Belle Madison that gave the Bishops a 1-0 lead at halftime.
The Madison goal would turn out to be all that OWU needed, but would add an insurance goal at the 59:00 mark by Makinzie Krebsbach en route to the 2-0 shutout.
In goal for Hiram, senior Emily Bristol (Worcester, N.Y./Worcester Central) started the game and played 79:30. She allowed two goals and made three saves, but fell to 4-10-2 overall for the season. Sophomore Kate Valaitis (Lewis Center/Olentangy) played the final 10:30 allowing no goals and recorded no saves.
Hiram will travel to Oberlin on Saturday, Oct. 23 for a NCAC contest against Oberlin College. The game is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
