Sophomore Kailie Reed (Wadsworth) had 11 saves in Hiram’s loss against Allegheny (Pa.).

The Hiram College women’s soccer team was defeated by Allegheny (Pa.) College, 3-0, in a North Coast Athletic Conference game in Meadville, Pa.

After a scoreless first half, Allegheny (9-4-2, 5-0 NCAC) broke the 0-0 tie with a goal at the 49:46 minute mark.  The Gators tacked on to their lead during the 71st minute and then sealed the game with their third score of the game during the 77th minute to make the score 3-0.  Hiram (8-6-1, 1-4-1 NCAC) recorded two shots in the period, but could get any past the Allegheny netminder as the Gators went on to claim the 3-0 shutout.

Sophomore Kailie Reed (Wadsworth) played all 90 minutes allowing three goals and had 11 saves.  She was also credited with the loss and is now 7-6-1 overall for the season.

Hiram will host Kenyon College on Saturday, Oct. 26 in a NCAC game at Charles A. Henry Field.  The game is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.
