The game looked to be headed to overtime when DePauw finally broke the stalemate late in the game at the 87:34 minute mark with an unassisted goal by Dana Sprague.  The goal would be the only one recorded as the Tigers hung on for the 1-0 victory.

In goal for Hiram, Valaitis played the entire first half allowing no goals and making the nine saves.  Freshman Kailie Reed (Wadsworth) came on to play the second half, but gave up the game-winning goal while tallying three saves.
