Freshman goalkeeper Rebecca Greenhouse (Pittsburgh, Pa./Winchester Thurston) recorded five saves in game against Wittenberg.

The Hiram College women’s lacrosse team suffered a 19-0 loss against Wittenberg University in a North Coast Athletic Conference game at Charles A. Henry Field.

Wittenberg (8-3, 5-0 NCAC) wasted no time scoring its first goal of the game just 28 seconds into the contest to take the early lead.  The Tigers went on to add another score at the 28:51 mark to extend the margin to 2-0.  Wittenberg went on to score seven more goals in the first 30 minutes to take a commanding 9-0 lead heading into the locker rooms.

In the second half, Wittenberg continued the offense scoring four goals within the first seven minutes to extend its lead to 13-0 with 23:24 left to play.  The Tigers tacked on six more scores in the period to cruise to the 19-0 final.

Hiram (3-7, 0-3 NCAC) recorded four shots in the game, but would not find the back of the net.

In goal, freshman Rebecca Greenhouse (Pittsburgh, Pa./Winchester Thurston) played all 60 minutes and made five saves in 24 shots faced.

Hiram will look to end its four-game losing skid when it travels to Delaware for a NCAC game against Ohio Wesleyan University on Tuesday, Apr. 16.  The game is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
