GRANVILLE, OHIO — Senior Kritsinee Khowcharoen (Muang, Phitsanulok, Thailand/Fryeburg Academy, Maine) carded an 80 to claim her first medalist honors of the season and lead the Hiram College women’s golf team to a sixth-place finish at the one-day Denison University Fall Invitational at the Granville Golf Course in Granville. The Terriers finished with a team total of 460 strokes and placed sixth overall of six teams. Otterbein University won the team title with 350 strokes and was followed by host school Denison in second at 352 strokes. Capital University rounded out the top three with a team total of 372 strokes.
Hiram was led by Khowcharoen’s tournament-best 80 on the par 71, 6,210-yard course layout. Becky Fleischmann was second with an 18-hole total 103 strokes and was followed by senior Amelia Mount (Strongsville/Padua) with an 118. Renee Bellis rounded out the Hiram competitors with 159 strokes.
The Terriers will compete next weekend, Saturday-Sunday, Sept. 24-25 at the Heidelberg University Invitational at Mowhawk Golf and Country Club in Tiffin. The first round is scheduled to begin at noon.
