Hiram College

The Hiram College women’s golf team finished seventh following the completion of the final round of the second and final North Coast Athletic Conference Championship Event hosted by Wabash (Ind.) College at the Crawfordsville Country Club in Crawfordsville, Ind.  The Terrier women also place seventh overall in the NCAC Championship Series.

Hiram shot a team total of 399 strokes on the final day of competition and ended the overall event with a total of 794 strokes (395+399=794) to place seventh overall of seven teams.  DePauw (Ind.) University captured the event with a total of 638 strokes (320+318=638) and was followed by Wittenberg University with 648 strokes (325+323=648).  Allegheny (Pa.) College took over the third spot with 663 strokes (335+328=663).

Individually for Hiram, sophomore Megan Jennings (Stow/Stow-Munroe Falls) carded a final round of 93 strokes to end the two-day event with a total of 182 strokes (89+93=182) to place 28th overall.  Sophomore Alexa Griswold (Conneaut) was second with 194 strokes (96+98=194) and sophomore Jenelle Bayus (Cortland/Lakeview) had the third-lowest total of 199 strokes (98+101=199).  Freshman Brogan Petree (Minerva) was fourth at 221 strokes (114+107=221) and sophomore Taylor Stott(Akron/Archbishop Hoban) rounded out the Hiram competitors with 225 strokes (112+113=225).

Hiram also finished seventh in the overall NCAC Championship Series with a combined four-round total of 1,571 strokes.  DePauw won the NCAC team title with 1,279 strokes and Wittenberg was second with 1,292 strokes.  Denison rounded out the top three schools with 1,338 strokes.  [Complete NCAC Championship Series Results]
