The Hiram College women’s golf team finished in 12th place following the final round of the Denison University Invitational at the Granville Golf Course in Granville.
Hiram shot a team total 408 strokes on the final day to finish the tournament with 820 total strokes (412+408=820) to place 12th of 12 teams. Host school Denison won the event with a tournament-total 650 strokes (330+320=650). Ohio Wesleyan University and Baldwin Wallace University tied for second with 697 strokes each.
Individually for Hiram, sophomore Megan Jennings (Stow/Stow-Munroe Falls) fired a 103 for the final 18 holes and ended the two-day event with a total of 197 strokes (94+103=197) to finish i a tie for 46th place overall. Fellow sophomore Jenelle Bayus (Cortland/Lakeview) also carded a 103 and placed second on the team at 201 strokes (98+103=201). Senior Carrie Dyer (Canton/McKinley) recorded the third lowest total for the Terriers with 207 strokes (110+97=207) and was followed by freshman Brogan Petree (Minerva) in fourth with 215 strokes (110+105=215) Sophomore Taylor Stott (Akron/Archbishop Hoban) rounded out the Hiram competitors with a tournament-total of 230 strokes (118+112=230).
Hiram will next compete in the Ohio Wesleyan Invitational next Saturday-Sunday, Sept. 14-15 in Powell.
