HIRAM, OHIO  —  The Hiram College volleyball team fell to Thomas More (Ky.) College, 3-2 (25-22, 20-25, 25-21, 21-25, 13-15), today (Sunday, Sept. 19) in the home opener at Price Gymnasium.  [Match Statistics]

With the loss, the Terriers are now 8-6 overall and the Saints improve to 9-4 overall for the season.

Leading the Hiram offense was junior All-North Coast Athletic Conference outside hitter Shaina Bryan (South Euclid/Brush) with 18 kills.  Junior All-NCAC middle hitter Kristi Opfer (Garrettsville/Garfield) was second with 13 kills.  Senior setter Alyssa Coundourides (Brunswick/Parma-Padua Franciscan) led the team in set assists with 35 followed by freshman setter Kallie Rogers (Petersburg/Springfield Local) with 13 assists.

Defensively, Bryan led the way with 26 digs.  Senior All-NCAC outside hitter/libero Kim Sage (Bellevue) was second with 23 digs.  Sophomore outside hitter Ariel Pund (Macedonia/Walsh Jesuit) totaled 12 digs and Coundourides added 11 digs.  Junior outside hitter Andrea Kaminsky (Canton/GlenOak) led the team in blocks with five (three solo and two assists).  Junior outside hitter Megan Woodard (Saint Leonard, Md./Calvert) added four blocks (two solo and two assists).

Hiram will host Baldwin-Wallace College in a non-conference match on Wednesday, Sept. 22 at Price Gym.  The match is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
