Hiram College

The Hiram College swimming and diving teams lost to Washington & Jefferson (Pa.) College in Washington, Pa.  The Terrier women lost, 63-47, and the men fell, 100-90.

The women had one individual event winner in sophomore Rachel Patten (Castalia/Margaretta) who won the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 11:33.21.

The men captured two individual events with sophomore Mark Stanke (Dover) touching the wall first in the 50-yard free (23.08 seconds) and fellow sophomore Danny Essel(Cleveland/Euclid) who won the 200-yard breaststroke by a hundreth of a second in a time of 2:23.39.

The Hiram swim teams will wrap-up the regular season when they travel to South Euclid for a tri-meet against Notre Dame College and the University of Pittsburgh-Bradford (Pa.) next Saturday, Feb. 1.  The meet is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
