The Hiram College softball team fell to Defiance and Thomas More (Ky.) on Thursday afternoon at the Rebel Spring Games in Winter Haven, Florida.

The Terriers are now 2-6 on the season.

Against Defiance (2-5), Hiram recorded eight hits but could not turn any of them into runs, falling 7-0.

Junior Kali Stover (Akron/Coventry) led the Terriers offensive attack, going 2-for-3 in the game.

Junior Meghan Garland (Mineral Ridge) pitched four innings in relief and gave up two earned runs and recording one strikeout.

Against Thomas More (3-4), the Saints struck for a run in the top of the first. But Hiram answered right back with a run of their own on a RBI double by senior Miranda Wright(Richfield/Revere).

Thomas More would add single runs in the second, third. The Saints then added two more runs in the fourth and plated four runs in the sixth to open up a 9-1 lead.

The Terriers would add a run in the sixth on a RBI single by senior Janie Linger (Akron/Firestone) that scored Stover.

The Saints would score one more run in the seventh to close out the 10-2 win.

Hiram will close out play in Florida on Friday with a pair of games against Mount Saint Joseph at 10:30 a.m. and Muskingum at 2:30 p.m.
