CLEVELAND, OHIO — Hiram College senior baseball player and All-North Coast Athletic Conference catcher Justin Street (Warren/Howland) has been named this week’s NCAC Player of the Week.
Street helped lead the Terriers to a pair of two-game splits this past week against D’Youville (N.Y.) College and the University of Pittsburgh-Greensburg.
For the week, Street batted an impressive .619 (13-of-21) at the plate with a homerun, a pair of triples, four doubles, scored six runs and had eight RBI. He drove in five of his eight RBI in the doubleheader against D’Youville on Thursday (Apr. 15).
For the season, Street is currently third on the team in batting average at .344 (32-of-93) with a homerun, two triples, eight doubles and 16 runs scored. He is second on the team in RBI with 19. As the starting catcher, Street has had a solid season defensively with a .966 fielding percentage with 111 putouts and 32 assists.
The Hiram baseball team will wrap-up the 2010 NCAC schedule this Saturday-Sunday, Apr. 24-25 when the Terriers travel to Wooster for a pair of doubleheader matchups against The College of Wooster. The first game on Saturday is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
