Hiram College

If you’re worrying about how you’re going to pay for college, or simply looking to lower the amount you’ll need to borrow, private scholarships are a great place to start. You have to look, but each year there is a lot of scholarship money left on the table because students did not apply. The amounts may not be large, but every dollar helps – and if you can reduce the amount of loan money you borrow, you can save two or more dollars for every dollar earned in scholarship money.

Below we’ve put together a list of scholarships that are available to non-traditional students in Northeast Ohio, which will get you started on your search for available scholarship money. The good news is, if you’re not finding what you’re looking for, we’ve just scratched the surface with this list! Another good place to start is College Now’s database of scholarships for adult learners, which lists $250,000 in available scholarships. There are over 1800 scholarships out there that have no age restriction whatsoever, so do a little research and find one that works for you.
