The annual Run for Grace and Andy raised more than $7,000 for student scholarships on Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012.
The run, now in its sixth year, honors Hiram students Grace Chamberlain and Andy Hopkins, who were killed in a March 2006 accident when a drunk driver hit their car.
Scholarships in music and creative writing, funded by money raised from the annual run, are awarded to Hiram College students each year in Grace and Andy’s names.
More than 230 people participated in the 5K run or one-mile walk Saturday morning. Hiram alumnus Joseph Hengoed ’12 finished with the best time for male participants, with a 16:21.1, and student Laila Almassri ’14, finished with the best time for females at 5:56/M.
