Hiram College named Patrick S. Roberts, who worked at the University of Akron in positions of increasing responsibility since 1993, as the associate vice president of institutional advancement and chief development officer.
Roberts most recently served as a Director of Development at the University of Akron. He is an exceptional fundraiser with a track record of exceeding goals. Roberts has extensive management experience and is well versed in all aspects of development and alumni relations from his time at Akron and, previous to that, as director of development for Archbishop Hoban High School, a private, K-12 institution.
“Pat is an outstanding development professional with more than 20 years of experience,” said Timothy A. Bryan, vice president for institutional advancement. “We’re delighted that he will join our advancement team.”
At Akron, Roberts remained an active fundraiser, responsible for $3.5 million in personal attainment during the past academic year. Pat earned a doctorate at the University of Akron where he also earned his master’s and bachelor’s degrees. He is active in leadership roles nationally in the Council for Advancement and Support of Education and was selected for participation in Leadership Akron.
In addition to interviewing with faculty, staff, and students, Roberts also interviewed with trustees Davis Young, Kathy Coleman, and our fundraising consultant, Sylvia Yankey. He did exceedingly well with all groups. He begins his new duties on July 28.
