The Hiram College Art Department will present an exhibit by guest artist Scott Fischer titled “Observations in Color” from Oct. 30-Dec. 16, 2015 at the College’s Gelbke Art Gallery (Gelbke Fine Arts Center, 12000 Winrock Road).
A gallery reception will take place opening night, Friday, Oct. 30, from 5-7 p.m., and an artist talk will take place at 6 p.m. All events are free and open to the public.
The artist, a graduate of Edinboro University in Pennsylvania and a recent Master of Fine Arts graduate of Kansas State University, has been part of more than ten group and juried art exhibitions. He presented an exhibition titled “Strange Paradise” in New York City and has displayed his work in venues like the Beach Museum of Art, a regional art museum in Manhattan, Kan. He is currently a participant in the 35th Annual Faber Birren Color Show located in Stamford, Conn. Fischer is actively engaged in painting and continues to extend his work as an emerging artist. An Olmsted Falls, Ohio resident, Fischer works as an instructor at the Cleveland Institute of Art, where he teaches drawing, design and material color.
