GAMBIER, OHIO — The Hiram College men’s soccer team was defeated by No. 23 nationally-ranked Kenyon College today (Wednesday, Oct. 20) in a North Coast Athletic Conference game in Gambier. [Game Stats]
Following today’s game, the Terriers are now 5-11 overall and 2-4 in the NCAC. The Lords improve to 12-1-1 overall and 4-1 NCAC.
The score remained scoreless after the first half of play and neither team would record a goal until the 78:35 minute mark of the final period when Kenyon’s Felix Hoffmann found the back of the net that gave the Lords a 1-0 lead. Hiram could not score the equilizer in the final minutes as the Lords hung on for the 1-0 shutout.
Senior Joe Tatum (Georgetown, Cayman Islands/St. George’s School) played all 90 minutes in net for Hiram, but suffered the loss and is now 3-9 overall for the season. He allowed the lone goal and made two saves.
Hiram will host Oberlin College on Wednesday, Oct. 27 at the Hiram Soccer Complex. The game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
