The Hiram College men’s lacrosse team dropped a 28-2 home decision to DePauw (Ind.) on Saturday afternoon.
The Terriers are now 3-8 on the season and 1-5 in NCAC play, while the Tigers improve to 6-7, 2-4.
The Tigers tallied the first three goals of the game to jump out to a 3-0 lead with 9:11 left in the first quarter.
Hiram got on the board at the 8:34 mark, when sophomore Doug Legris (Fairfax, Vt./Bellows Free Academy) found the back of the net. It was his seventh goal of the season.
From there, DePauw took control, scoring 15 unanswered goals to build a 18-1 halftime advantage.
The Tigers would continue to add goals and opened a 22-1 lead, before junior Greg Summers(Lancaster, N.Y./St. Mary’s) found the back of the net for his team leading 20th goal of the season midway through the third quarter.
Legris scooped up a team-high nine ground balls, while Finegan added seven.
Andrew Wright led DePauw with seven goals and three assists in the contest.
Hiram will be back at it on Tuesday, when it hits the road to take on Oberlin at 7 p.m.
