Hiram College

The Hiram College men’s golf team opened up the 2014 season with a sixth place finish out of seven teams at the Gatorade Collegiate Championships hosted by the College of Wooster.

The Terriers shot a 318-320-638 on the par-72, 6736-yard course.

Freshman Austin Jenkins led Hiram, firing a 74-81-155, finishing in a tie for 23rd out of 48 golfers.

Freshman Kyle Carile shot a 76-82-158, which was tied for 27th and senior Kyle Meggas (Lakewood) finished in 33rd, shooting a 82-79-161.

Mount Union won the team title shooting a 586. Andrew Britton of John Carroll took medalist honors with a 73-69-142.

Hiram will return to competition at the Guy W. Kuhn Memorial Invitational hosted by Allegheny (Pa.) on September 14-15.
