GRANVILLE, OHIO – The Hiram College men’s golf team placed 10th of 13 teams following the final round of the Denison University Invitational today (Sunday, Apr. 10) at the Granville Golf Course in Granville. [FINAL Results]
The Terriers shot a final-round team total of 313 strokes and end the two-day tournament with an overall total of 637 strokes (324+313=637) to finish 10th overall. Ohio Wesleyan University won the event with a tournament total 588 strokes (295+293=588) and was followed by the University of Mount Union in second with 593 strokes (301+292=593). Rounding out the top three teams was Otterbein University at 604 strokes (302+302=604).
Hiram freshman Ethan Tope (Dalton/Waynedale) carded a 74 on the final day to lead the Terriers with a tournament total 155 strokes (81+74=155) and placed in a tie for 32nd overall. Fellow freshman Chad Casey (South Bend, Ind./John Adams) placed second on the team with 160 strokes (83+77=160). Junior Bryan Todd (Green) was third at 161 strokes (80+81=161), follwed by senior Andy Deehr (Cortland/Champion) with 162 strokes (80+82=162). Rounding out the Hiram competitors was junior Bob Ritchie (Strongsville/Brunswick) with a two-day total 166 strokes (85+81=166).
Hiram will next compete at the Wooster Invitational on Saturday-Sunday, Apr. 23-24 at the Wooster Country Club.
