CLEVELAND, OHIO  —  Hiram College men’s basketball player and senior guard Chris Roberts (Cleveland/Kennedy) has been named to the 2010-11 All-North Coast Athletic Conference Team as a second-team pick.  In addition, freshman guard Aaron Stefanov (Stow/Stow-Munroe Falls) was selected as the NCAC Newcomer of the Year.  [2010-11 All-NCAC Team]

The Terriers ended the 2010-11 campaign with a 14-12 overall record and made an eighth overall appearance in the NCAC Tournament.

Roberts earned his third All-NCAC selection and a second-straight second-team honor.  This year, he led the team in scoring with 266 points (10.6 points per game) and shot 38.2 percent (83-of-217) from the floor.  Roberts also led the team in free-throws made (80), free-throw attempts (107) and his 74.8 free-throw percentage also ranked amongst the team leaders.  In addition, he recorded 79 rebounds (3.2 rebounds per game), 32 assists and 20 steals.

For his career, Chris is the 23rd player in program history to score 1,000 points and ranks 14th overall with 1,188 points in 87 games.  He ranks in the program’s top-ten list in several statistical categories and ends his career with an impressive 43.7 lifetime shooting percentage (396-of-906), including 30.7 percent (63-of-205) from three-point range and 72.9 percent (33-of-457) at the charity stripe.  Chris also completes an impressive playing career with 387 rebounds (4.4 rpg.), 159 assists, 115 steals and 19 blocked shots.

Stefanov had a standout “rookie” season finishing second on the team in scoring at 9.2 ppg. while shooting 43.2 percent from the floor.  He led the team in three-point shooting making 58-of-127 attempts for a 45.7 shot percentage.  His three-point percentage also ranked second best in the NCAC and his 58 successful triples ranked third.  Stefanov also shot an impressive 81.5 percent (22-of-27) from the free-throw line.  To go along with his impressive shooting performance this season, he tallied 26 assists, 21 steals and had five blocked shots.
