Senior defensive end Mario Lemuel (Suwanee, Ga./Peachtree Ridge) has been named NCAC Football defensive player of the week.
On Saturday, Lemuel turned in a dominating performance in Hiram’s 37-26 NCAC opening victory.
He finished with six tackles, three sacks, two interceptions and a forced fumble.
His second interception came with 4:51 remaining and clinched the victory for the Terriers.
Lemuel currently leads the team with five tackles for loss and three sacks.
Hiram (2-0, 1-0) will return to action on Saturday, when it hosts Allegheny (Pa.) in a NCAC contest at 1 p.m. The game will also be a part of homecoming festivities on campus all weekend.
