Hiram College

Many Hiram faculty members report recent good news.

Instructor of English Paul Gaffney successfully defended his dissertation on April 11 at the University of Virginia. Gaffney’s dissertation was titled, “Taking Stock of the Middle English Romances.”

Minority Dissertation Fellow LaShawnDa Pittman was selected as one of 16 up and coming social scientists participating in the Witherspoon Institute Family Seminar 2008. The topic of the seminar will be “Gender, the Family, and the Social Sciences.” The seminar will be held in Princeton, New Jersey this June.

Associate professor of history Rodney Hessinger and associate professor of physics Mark Taylor both recently secured competitive fellowships to support their sabbatical research.

Congratulations to these Hiram faculty members!
