Senior Ryan Kramarz (Chesterland/West Geauga) scored two goals, including the game winner in the second overtime, to lead the Hiram College men’s soccer team past Wosster 2-1 on Wednesday night.
The Terriers are now 8-7-2 on the season and 3-3-2 in NCAC play, while the Fighting Scots fall to 3-12-1, 0-8-0.
Kramarz scored his game winning goal at the 107:36 mark of the match. He was able to get a breakaway down the right side and beat the goalie to the far post.
He got the Terriers on the board first in the 50th minute, taking a pass from junior Richie Webb(London, England/Laude Lady Elizabeth School) and finding the back of the net.
The assist was Webb’s team leading sixth of the season. Kramarz now has six goals, which is tops on the team.
The Fighting Scots would tie the game in the 88th minute, on a free kick by Matt Ehrenburg.
Freshman goalkeeper Luke Wilhelm (Shaker Heights/University) made three saves in goal and improves to 3-1-2 on the year.
The Terriers outshot Wooster 16-7 and also held a 5-1 edge in corner kicks.
Hiram will conclude its season on Saturday, when it hosts No. 21-ranked Ohio Wesleyan at Henry Field at 7:30 p.m. The Terriers will honor their two seniors before the contest.
