The Hiram indoor track and field teams competed in the second of three Oberlin College Meets on Friday night ( Feb. 8 ) in Oberlin. The meet was unscored. [Complete Results]
Senior All-NCAC hurdler Lynne Hutchison (Solon) led the Terrier women capturing the 55-meter hurdles with a time of 9.06 seconds. She also finished third in the 200-meter dash (28.50 seconds) and fifth in the 55-meter dash (8.11) seconds. Fellow teammate, freshman Kelly Taylor (Ghana/Wesley Girls), placed sixth in the 55-meter dash recording a time of 8.36 seconds. Sophomore Nadrienna Damaris (Detroit, Mich./Renaissance) crossed the finish line in seventh place in the 200-meter dash (29.06) to round out the Hiram top-ten individual performances for the women.
Junior Kevin Tolbert (Shaker Heights) paced the men with a second place finish in the 55-meter dash posting a time of 6.65 seconds. He also finished ninth in the 200-meter dash (24.47 seconds). Rounding out the top-ten individual performances for the men was freshman Steve Hammond (Huber Heights/Kettering Fairmont) who finished seventh in the 55-meter hurdles with a time of 8.53 seconds.
The Hiram track teams return to Oberlin next Friday (Feb. 15) for the final Oberlin Indoor Meet of the season. The meet is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
