Hiram College women’s basketball player and freshman forward Brianne Goodrich (Chesterland/West Geauga) has been named this week’s North Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Week.
Goodrich helped the Terriers post a perfect 3-0 record this past week with victories against Bethany (W.Va.), Penn State-Behrend (Pa.) and Thiel (Pa.). Hiram is 4-6 overall for the season following this week’s outcomes.
Individually, Goodrich averaged 14.7 points per game for the week, including finishing with a double-double (22 points and 10 rebounds) in the win against Bethany, while shooting 48.6 percent from the field. She was tied for the team-lead in rebounding averaging 7.3 boards per game. In addition, she also tallied two assists, two blocked shots and three steals.
Overall for the season, Goodrich leads the team in scoring with an 11.8 ppg. average and shoots a team-best 50.5 percent (46-of-91) from the floor. She is third in overall rebounding at 5.6 rebounds per game and is second in blocked shots with four. She has also tallied eight steals and six assists.
Hiram will be idle until Monday, Dec. 30 when the Terriers travel to Marietta for a non-conference game against Marietta College. The game is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m.
