Hiram College students are invited to attend a financial literacy workshop “Protecting Your Identity – Online and on Your Cell,” at 11:45 a.m. on Oct. 23, 2014, in Dix Dining Hall. Dale Moore, of Middlefield Bank’s Information Technology department, will lead the talk. This workshop is part of a series of workshops taking place this semester to educate students in financial literacy.
The workshops are part of the course “Money, Money, Money: Financial Survival Skills,” team-taught by Liz Okuma, vice president and dean of students, and Andrea Caputo, Director of Financial Aid. This workshop, however, is open to the entire student body.
“Finances are a big concern for college graduates, and our goal is to educate our student body about things like credit score and student loans, which already have a big impact upon their lives,” Caputo said. “Being financially smart now, as college students, makes for fewer surprises once they graduate.”
The final workshop of the series will take place Oct. 30, 2014, “Student Loans 101.”
