Gelbke Fine Arts Center will house an art exhibition, “New Views in Fiber: 8 Voices,” starting on October 18 through November 17. The show will present a vast variety of approaches to art with the use of fiber. Colors, patterns and textures are used to create abstractions, imagery and themes. This exhibition features eight Northeast Ohio artists who share a passion for making art with fiber materials. Sharon Bell, Britt Friedman, JoAnn Giordano, Barb Lind, Ruta Marino, June O’Neil, Kathleen Van Meter, and Marty Young have been meeting for years to critique each other’s work, share information and to attend exhibits, and now they get to take part in their very own exhibition together.

On Friday, October 22, from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., a free reception- open to the public- will include presentations by several of the exhibiting artists.
