Junior Marian Bade (Macungie, Pa./The Perkiomen School) won twice to lead the Hiram College women’s swimming & diving team in a 94-92 loss to Bethany (W. Va.) on Saturday.
The Terriers drop to 3-7 on the season, while the Bison improve to 7-4.
Bade won the 400-meter freestlye in 5:22.44 and the 800-meter freestyle in 10:59.36.
Junior Rachel Patten (Castalia/Margaretta) won the 400-meter IM in 5:55.93 and was also second in the 100-meter backstroke in 1:19.06.
Freshman Jenni Heid (Stow/Stow-Munroe Falls) finished second in the 200-meter freestyle in 2:28.80 and also was second in the 100-meter freestyle in 1:07.18. In addition, Heid also touched second in the 100-meter breaststroke in 1:24.93.
Senior Rebecca Wright (New Carlisle/Northwestern Local) was second in the 50-meter freestlye and 100-meter butterfly in 30.92 and 1:19.64, respectively.
Hiram will now have a long layoff and will return to competition on January 11, when it takes on Wittenberg at 1 p.m.
