Wandering: New Photographic Works by Linda Bourassa
January 23 - February 24, 2012
"This exhibition is the result of a sabbatical leave in the Spring of 2011. It began with a trip to Florida and in that month, two trips to Payne’s Prairie, south of Gainesville. I took long walks, with my camera, along raised earth paths with dredged canals that were populated with many alligators and species of large birds. Despite having the reputation of being a national park with the most Apex predators, it has a subtle beauty that challenged me to slow down, observe, and find new rhythms."
Linda Bourassa is a Professor of Art and faculty member of the Art Department since the Fall of 1987. She completed two master’s degrees from the University of Iowa. The first was a Masters in Film Production in 1980 and the second, the terminal degree, an MFA in Photography in the Spring of 1987. She teaches Fine Art Photography and Film Art as well as Contemporary Media, Digital Art, and Entrepreneurship in the Studio Arts.
