Before Digital: The Era of Silver Photography

November 8 - December 18, 2012
Opening Reception: Thursday, November 8th, 5:50 - 7:30 PM
Presentation by FRCL: The Art of Photography. 6:00 PM
The exhibit featured many photos of Hiram, from the College’s archives, dating back as far as the 1880s, as well as photos by past Hiram students and faculty, all from the era before PhotoShop and memory cards.
Professor of Art Linda Bourassa assembled the show. These photographs were produced using film, cameras and print surfaces, which relied on the different combinations of the interaction of light with silver and chemicals to produce the black and white or color images.
Bourassa's Fall 2012 Colloquium focused on this method of photography.
