The exhibition features eight artists from Northeast Ohio who share an affinity for making art with fiber materials. The group has been meeting regularly for years to critique works in progress, share information, discuss issues in fiber art, and attend exhibits and lectures. Members include Sharon Bell, Britt Friedman, JoAnn Giordano, Barb Lind, Ruta Marino, June O'Neil, Kathleen Van Meter, and Marty Young.
The works in the show present a wide variety of approaches to art in fiber, yet share some common threads: a concern for color, pattern and texture, narrative themes, abstraction, and imagery derived from nature. While some works are influenced by traditional textile production, such as quilts, other works reference art disciplines such as painting, sculpture, installation and digital photography.
