Martin Luther King Jr. Day celebrated by volunteers at Hiram House Camp

Linda Rea, Jason Bricker-Thompson, Leah Miracle

On Saturday, January 21, 14 volunteers from Hiram College donated their time cleaning Hiram House Camp getting ready for the spring and summer season.

Associate Chaplain Jason Bricker-Thompson lead a morning and afternoon group of volunteers to celebrate MLK Day through community service.

Hiram House was founded by Hiram graduates seeking to address issues of economic disparity in urban Cleveland in 1896. The Hiram House was one of the first Settlement Houses in the country, and began a nationally renowned fresh air camp that still exists today. Today, Hiram House Camp continues to serve socio-economically disadvantaged youth from Cleveland and Akron and has maintained its relationship with Hiram College over the years.
