Matt Sorrick, M.S.

Matt is a 1991 graduate of Hiram College and has been teaching at the college since 2003. He taught middle and high school science and also was Director of the Science Resource Center at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History.

Matt teaches a variety of science courses primarily in the Education Department but also through Environmental Studies.

In addition to teaching duties, Matt coordinates many of the educational programs offered at the J.H. Barrow Field Station including school field trips, summer camps and community programs. As Director of the Northwoods Field Station, he coordinates a variety of experiences for high school and college students, alumni and other visitors.

Fun Facts

  • Matt is passionate about exploring nature with students of all ages and is fortunate to spend much time at the J.H. Barrow Field Station and the Northwoods Field Station.
  • As a student at Hiram College, Matt played basketball for two years and swam for two years. He has served as Assistant Coach of the Swim & Dive team for 3 years.
