Quietly Comes the Crane Fly

Quietly comes the crane fly,
a seahorse with wings, spider web bones
dancing like crumbs from a sweater
blown by the breeze
through the soft light of the canopy green.
their thoughts in wings, destination,
and daily rituals of possible deaths.

For a moment
I’d like to be a crane fly
and before my life was captured
I could catch up with the significant delight
of being so small and thinking so simple.
