Sponsored by the Entrepreneurship Education Consortium (EEC)
August 8-13, 2010
Baldwin-Wallace College
Who: Full Time Students, All Majors. Preference given to rising seniors and juniors. The Hiram Team will consist of five (5) students with two (2) alternates. Alternates will be notified if they are participating in case of an emergency.
What: EIW is an immersion event where you will spend the week going to academic sessions, participating in breakout sessions, and networking with students from eight other area universities (KSU, B-W, JCU, CSU, Case, UA, Ashland and Lake Erie), entrepreneurs in the area, and other prominent members of the Northeast Ohio entrepreneurship community. You will explore business ideas, innovation, creativity, and have the opportunity to network. You will be introduced to the skills necessary to develop a new business concept and apply these skills in a team-based project. The experiences you will have will enhance your business acumen and give you a great talking point in interviews and on job applications.
This is also an opportunity to enhance or develop a business concept that you may have. If you do not already have a business concept, it is an opportunity to work with a group of fellow Hiram students to develop a business idea.
At the end of the week, the students representing each school will present their business concept to a panel of judges. The winning team will be awarded a package consisting of cash and gifts for their future.
The winning group of students will be offered some of the resources to help make their business concept a reality. The Entrepreneurship Education Consortium is attempting to foster innovation and entrepreneurship in the area and is creating an environment in which the winning team can pursue their endeavor.
Cost: Nothing besides a time commitment! Students will spend the five days at Baldwin-Wallace College in Berea and stay in residence halls on campus.
Additional Information: All expenses will be paid for the week. Students will be provided with tuition, room, board, admission fees, and textbooks.
