A nurse practitioner is available Monday through Friday  for appointments.  The doctor comes in once a week and sees students by appointment only.  After hours medical concern can be addressed by the on-call registered nurses. The RAs, RDs, Welcome Center and Campus Safety have access to contact information for the on-call nurses. When dealing with an emergency the Hiram Emergency Squad may be reached at X5414.

CONFIDENTIALITY
All Health Service encounters are treated with confidentiality. Medical files are not shared with anyone without the student's permission. The only exception to this is if we believe a student is a threat to him/herself or another person. Likewise, information from the medical record is not given to anyone--friends, professors, or even parents--without the student's express permission. Counseling Services is located in the Julia Church Health Center building; however, information and records are separate and are not a part of the student's medical file.

New to Hiram This Year!

Hiram College and My LifePlan, a healthcare information services company, are proud to announce a partnership that will bring My LifePlan's breakthrough service to all current students, faculty and staff, as well as to all incoming freshman.

My LifePlan integrates the latest biometric technology and Web-based access to provide first repsonders and hospital emergency room staff with secure, immediate access to critical information.  MyChoice speaks for individuals who may not be able to speak for themselves by providing personnel with a medical history, emergency contacts, allergies and any personal directives a patient may have, through a simple scan of a fingerprint or the use of an ID card.
