The Minority Roundtable:
"Committed To Leadership and Service"
The concept of the Minority Roundtable was introduced in the Fall of 1998 by Hiram junior, Frank Runge. Following a successful trip to a national leadership conference, Frank formally proposed to The Director of Ethnic Diversity Affairs, the idea of strengthening Hiram’s social justice initiatives by providing a collective forum for individuals and special interest groups.
With the support of Vice President and Dean, Mike Grajek,
Runge and West developed the Roundtable as a resource for groups and
organizations to share information and secure advocacy. The guiding purpose of
The Minority Roundtable is to address collectively those issues that affect
special interest populations within the community. On a routine basis, the
group meets to discuss quality of life concerns and to encourage teamwork,
communication, campus education, service, and collaboration among minority
groups.
Currently, The Minority Roundtable is comprised of the
following:
- The African American Students United
- The Black Professional Development Organization
