The Office of Ethnic Diversity Affairs

The Office of Ethnic Diversity Affairs, established in June of 1992, serves as a resource for the community on issues related to culture and cultural enrichment. The primary goal of the office is, through programs, activities, and a variety of services, to further Hiram College’s long-standing commitment to cultural and ethnic diversity.

In 1979, the Hiram College Board of Trustees incorporated into the college's mission an impressive statement on diversity. This statement reflects a strong dedication to diversity education for all members of the Hiram College community and champions the spirit of inclusiveness and civility that are deemed important to a nationally ranked liberal arts education.

In addition to active involvement in broader campus initiatives, the Office of Ethnic Diversity Affairs provides support and attention to the college's largest ethnic minority population, African-American/Black students. A variety of services, including clubs and organizations are available to insure that underrepresented students receive adequate challenge and support that will enhance their curricular and co-curricular success.
