The Writing Center

The Writing Center, located in 217 Hinsdale, exists to support the College's comprehensive commitment to writing and offers information, services and programs for all students. Its goals are to enhance writing proficiency and foster permanent affection and respect for language.

The Center supports students as they work through a rigorous writing program that begins with Writing in the Liberal Arts and continues through the senior year. Trained writing assistants will read papers brought into the Writing Center during any stage of the writing process. They will help students clarify their thinking and achieve greater precision. The Center is not a remedial service, but a valuable resource for all Hiram writers. Contests, workshops, receptions, and a wide variety of other activities are also sponsored by the Center.

To schedule an appointment sign up outside the Writing Center while on campus or call the Weekend College office at (330) 569-5161.
