Requirements for the Communication Major

To satisfy the requirements for a communication major, a student must satisfactorily complete the requirements listed below.

I. The four Core Courses (101, 300, 470, 480)
II. Five additional courses, in three tracks
III. Correlative Course: Either one writing course (above 110) or a foreign language through the 102 level.

Transfer students will be required to complete at least half of the coursework in their communication major at Hiram College. Currently enrolled students interested in transferring credits in communication from other institutions must receive written permission from the Dean of the and from the Chair of the Communication Department. The department frequently offers special topic courses as 280 or 380; please consult with the Department faculty or the Weekend College Dean for the appropriate track designation.
