Ethics Internships

The Center for the Study of Ethical Issues, through the Foote Endowment,  funds internships for undergraduate students at Hiram in a variey of areas. Examples of recent internships include:

  • American Friends Service: a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting peace and social justice.

  • The Cleveland Clinic: in cooperation with Hiram's academic program in biomedical humanities, this internship in bioethics is carried out at one of the world's premier medical facilities.

  • Hiram House: a youth camp facility that promotes social understanding and character-building opportunities for young people from diverse backgrounds.

  • Lutheran Hospital: Spanish translation and aid for non-English speaking patients in the collection of medical data and access to health care services.

  • MYRADA: a non-governmental rural development organization in southern India that distributes loans to small women's cooperatives.
