Sugar Day, which began in 1921, is a long-standing tradition at Hiram College.
Each year, in the spring semester, students have the day off from classes to engage in community service projects. First year students volunteer with their First Year Colloquium and Writing Seminar classmates and professor, and upperclassmen have the opportunity to get involved in service projects with student organizations they are a part of.
Sugar Day is a strong example of Hiram College's commitment to community engagement. Students volunteer with the Pack Shack and through campus beautification on our campus.
