The Biomedical Humanities Academic Program

Because technological advances continually change the face of healthcare at an exponential rate, healthcare practitioners need the resources necessary for ensuring that the practice of medicine is always patient-centered.  Hiram's Biomedical Humanities program is committed to this goal by supporting the College's mission to develop students who are "intellectually alive, socially responsible, ethical citizens." Its curriculum combines a science core necessary for understanding human biology with an in-depth examination of bioethical issues, cultural diversity, and community service through the humanities. Taken together, this approach serves students interested in the future of health care as well as those students interested in becoming healthcare practitioners.
