Resumes & Cover Letters

Preparing for your job search by writing your resume and cover letter may seem like a burden but really offers you an opportunity! Creating a resume forces you to think seriously about yourself and the abilities you offer potential employers. Cover letters or cover emails, which always accompany resumes, can be samples of your writing ability as well as explanations for your interest in that profession or in that specific job.

Use the resources from the menu on the left to get started. In addition, the Career Center offers Resume Workshops and Resume Review Drop-In Times to answer your questions about resume writing and to give you helpful feedback to make your resume most effective.

We strongly urge you to have your resume reviewed before you begin applying for jobs so that all your skills and abilities are exhibited in a way that serves you well. Watch for publicity for our workshops or call the Career Center at ext. 5131 to schedule an appointment.
