3 Ways to Find an Internship
The staff in the Career Center is availalbe to help you prepare for and to find an internship. Attend an Internship Workshop or make an appointment to discuss your plans.
There are three primary ways to find internship opportunities: searching active vacancies, researching organizations and networking.
1. Search active vacancies
Search active vacancies posted by the Career Center frequently in:
- Hiram CareerNet on the main Internship page. Along with vacancies we also maintain an archive of internships in Hiram CareerNet since many internships are available on a recurring annual cycle. To search the archive effectively, follow the instructions in Hiram CareerNet. More information is available on most of these internships in the Career Center. Hiram College is pleased to bring you internships from employers in northeast Ohio who particiapte in ClevelandIntern.net. You will find these internships in your Hiram CareerNet account.

- The Career Center Library (Hinsdale 101) has internship guides for your use including the Peterson's Guide to Internships, National Directory of Arts Internships, Summer Theatre Directory, The Insider's Guide to Political Internships, and the series The Complete Guide to ...Social Change, Women's Issues, Advertising among others.

Internship Links Along with our database, there are numerous other internship posting sites to explore.
2. Research organizations
Research organizations that interest you and contact them directly.
You may be interested in environmental organizations, childrens' advocacy groups or accounting firms. Click on Internship Links and use the menu on the right to identify possible employers by interest area or do an internet search for lists of organizations. Watch their websites for internship vacancies.
3. Network
Network with Hiram alums, professors, friends, and family to get suggestions.
The Hiram College Alumni Career Network is available for your use to identify Hiram graduates who have volunteered to help you identify internships, to give career advice, or to tell you more about their careers. To use the Hiram Alumni Career Network, log into your Hiram CareerNet account and choose "Alumni/Mentors" from the top menu.
