Preparing for Internships
- Employers expect internship candidates to have a professional resume, stressing the skills and education you have to offer, and a cover letter/email describing your background and explaining why you are interested in this internship. Attend a resume workshop and/or bring your resume and cover letter drafts to the Career Center for review. Regular open hours are held or you are welcome to make an appointment at a convenient time.
- Learn to interview and express your qualifications well. Use the Interview Resources on our website or stop by the Career Center to pick up more preparation suggesitons. Practice interviews are held in the Career Center every semester.
- Dress appropriately for your career field. See the Interview Resources section for traditional business dress or talk with the Career Center staff.
