Choosing Graduate Programs
The Career Center has the complete set of Peterson's Guides, the primary research source on graduate school, in our Career Library. These books contain more information than the online version below and might also be useful.
Graduate school references
- Peterson's Guide is a good starting database, searchable by program or location. Follow up by using the actual books in the Career Center.

- The Graduate Management Admission Council lists more than 500 business schools.
- All medical schools are listed on the American Association of Medical Colleges page.
Many specialized lists of graduate programs exist as well. Check the Career Center Library for directories on graduate school in psychology and social work, genetics, public administration, and others. Your adviser may also have a list of programs related to your major. Online, try a search engine for your area of interest or search for the main professional organization in your proposed field. You may consider an online graduate program. Many excellent programs have been developed by reputable and accredited universities. Be sure to check them out carefully, however, to be certain that you will get the education you want.
