Program Counselor I for the Office of Professional and Graduate Studies

Additionally, experience with adult learning program support, student retention and admissions processes are required.
The Program Counselor I is responsible for coordinating admission and enrollment processes for Hiram College’s PGS programs. These responsibilities include, recruiting, advising, and retention activities, maintaining relationships with Hiram College staff and faculty, and coordinating student support and retention processes for PGS programs.
The successful candidate will have knowledge of effective practices in the operation and delivery of adult programs. The successful candidate must be experienced with recruiting and advising adult learners. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment is essential. A background in customer service, sales, or marketing is a plus. Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred. Must be able to work some evenings and weekends as assigned.

Assistant Football Intern
Hiram College is seeking applications for an intern position in Football. Hiram College is a private liberal arts institution located in northeast Ohio. The College is a member of the North Coast Athletic Conference and NCAA Division III.
The assistant football intern position is a full time, 10 month staff position which reports to the head football coach and Director of Athletics. The assistant intern is responsible for the following; strength & conditioning, defensive backs or defensive line, recruiting and retention of student-athletes to Hiram College. Assistant Professor of Computer Science
The Computer Science Department at Hiram College invites applications for a tenure-track position in computer science beginning Fall 2017. Responsibilities include teaching three courses per semester, two in each 12-week term and one in each 3-week term. The successful candidate will be expected to teach both introductory and upper-level courses with the opportunity to develop a seminar course in their specialty.
Hiram College has initiated a new Applied Computer Science undergraduate major program that allows students to apply their computer science knowledge to another discipline. We are seeking to add to our department a unique individual with experience and interest in current technological trends such as Agile development, Enterprise-level development, Embedded Systems, Data Science, or Information Systems, although candidates from any area of computer science will be considered. Our goal is to support your interest in current trends that tie other disciplines to computer science, and to synthesize your interests with our strong tradition of providing undergraduates with excellent computer science fundamentals. Additionally, through our Hiram Connect commitment to experiential learning, we encourage all undergraduates to have at least one internship experience, as well as their research-oriented capstone. The successful candidate will be expected to include undergraduate students in their research and to help mentor students in finding and excelling in their internships.
A successful candidate will have a PhD in Computer Science or related area (ABD considered), and excellent teaching and mentoring skills. Appointment rank and salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. The Executive Director of Marketing and Communications is the senior marketing, communications and media relations representative for Hiram College, reporting directly to the Vice President of Enrollment, and in frequent direct consultation with the President of the College. The central purpose of this position and its areas of oversight is to inform internal and external constituents about the College’s goals, aspirations, and programs; build positive interactions between the institution and its publics; and thereby build support for its mission of teaching, research, and service.
The Executive Director is responsible for developing and implementing a coordinated program of strategic communications designed to advance the objectives of the institution. To achieve this, the Executive Director provides oversight for: governmental relations at the federal, state, and regional levels; public relations, marketing, and media relations to support recruitment marketing and increase enrollment, retention, and fundraising.
The position requires a minimum of seven years of progressive administrative experience in higher education or a relevant field as it relates to marketing, communications, and public/media relations. A Master’s degree from an accredited institution is preferred. Advanced experience in writing for media, website, print publications, grants, speeches, and internal communications is necessary. Director of Campus Safety
Hiram College invites applications for the position of Director of Campus Safety Services. As a member of the Student Affairs Division, the Director of Campus Safety Services reports directly to the Vice President and Dean of Students. The primary function of the directorship at Hiram College is that of teacher/educator and community safety skill developer. Student learning outcomes are at the core of what we do, but also educating faculty and staff regarding best practices in approaches to traditional and emergent campus safety issues is essential. The safety of our community depends on people’s knowledge and understanding of how to be a safe community.
The Director must have experience in oral and written communication, group development and public relations as well as general knowledge of college safety practices and concerns. Excellent communication skills are essential as well as demonstrated ability to follow-through, attend to detail and respond calmly and quickly to challenging situations. Director candidates require a bachelor’s degree or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired (master’s degree preferred). Candidates should have knowledge and/or experience in the following areas:
- Prior experience working in Student affairs and/or on a college campus with knowledge of CLERY and Title IX reporting strongly preferred.
- Broad base of knowledge and skills related to law enforcement and security methodology and procedures, including investigation of accidents, criminal acts, and other emergency situations; familiarity with relevant criminal and civil laws.
- General knowledge of fire prevention and emergency medical services.
- Training or experience in handling intoxicated and/or out-of-control individuals,
- Administrative, supervisory, and basic budget management skills; some previous supervisory experience.
- Ability to deal with a broad range of individuals/groups within and outside of the College, often under stressful, dangerous and/or emergency conditions exercising diplomacy, courtesy, and tact under pressure.
- Availability to work evening and night shifts where necessary and be on call 24 hours/day.

Faculty Position in Accounting & Financial Management
The Hiram College Department of Economics, Management and Accounting invites applications for a full-time tenure-track faculty position in Accounting & Financial Management beginning Fall Semester 2017. The primary purpose of the position is to coordinate, plan, prepare, present and assess classroom instruction and related activities for the major as well as for the liberal arts core curriculum of the College. Full time faculty must carry a teaching load of 22-24 semester hours per year and must also engage in the life of the institution by providing service to the students and committees, as well as maintaining scholarly efforts in his/her discipline. Campus Safety Officer (Part-time, 400 hours)
ell as the buildings, grounds, and equipment of Hiram College. The Campus Safety Office seeks to ensure a safe learning and working environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform thorough safety patrols of the buildings and grounds, utilizing the Watchman Tour System.
Provide safety and/or escort assistance as requested.
Lock and Unlock buildings according to daily needs.
Ensure the policies of Hiram College are followed and enforce them as necessary.
Maintain a daily activity log in addition to the Watchman Tour System. File appropriate reports.
Collaborate successfully with Village Police, Fire officials and other emergency responders.
Report maintenance issues.
Develop and maintain a positive rapport with the Hiram College community.
Assume all other reasonable professional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Campus Safety.
Must be able to use basic functions of technology, including the Watchman Tour System Report Function and the iParq ticketing system. Use of email, digital cameras, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Access) is required.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
Access areas of campus that are not easily accessible (stairs, steep landscaping).
Must be able to communicate (written, orally, etc.) clearly, effectively, and timely with the community members, Hiram Village Police, Fire Department, and other campus constituents.
Must possess a current driving license in good standing.
Must possess a minimum of a high school diploma.
Safety Officers are unarmed.
Safety Officers must be at least 21 years old.
Safety Officers must be able to sit, stand, walk, and/or drive for extended periods of time.
