Open Discussion w/ Bissell Symposium Key note Speaker Dr. Stephen Post

Stephen G. Post is Professor, Department of Bioethics, School of Medicine, Case Western Reserve University, is the keynote speaker for the 2008 Bissell Symposium. Dr. Post's work focuses on three major areas:(1) Cognitive Disabilities and Dementia. 2) Family Caregivers and the Ethics of the Family; 3) Altruism and Compassionate Love in the Context of Scientific Research, Philosophy, Religion, Ethics, and the Professions.
Dr. Post will hold two open sessions; 2:45 -3:45pm and 4:00 5:00pm, for the campus community to meet with him to discuss his work prior to the keynote address in the Kennedy Center at 7:30.
Dr. Linda Rea, holder of the Bissell Chair in Liberal Studies is offering a 1 hour course that allows students who are interested, to read and discuss the book ahead of time and then engage Dr. Post when he is on campus. Informal discussions with students and facutly will be held throughout the afternoon of March 24th, (2:45-3:45pm; 4:00 -5:00pm) with the evening lecture at 7:30 pm. On Tuesday March 25th a panel discussion for faculty and students will be held in the ballroom at 12:30pm
