Nick Evilsizer almost won a free car at halftime of the men's game!

More than 350 blue paper airplanes were simultaneously launched from the stands and made their way toward a box placed at center court. A new $25,000 Grand Am was the reward if an aircraft, bearing the name of its creator, found its way inside the target, but despite valiant efforts and some very original aerodynamic designs, no aircraft was successful, though Hiram baseball player Nick Evilsizer's airplane came close, bouncing off the edge of the target.

Fully loaded Pontiac Grand Am GT, sponsored by Charles Chevrolet in Garrettsville, $25,000 value.

Chad Williams could have won a semester of tuition for himself and a friend and a spring break trip for 10 if he'd been allowed the kick the basketballs into the hoop!

Hiram soccer player Chad Williams was selected to shoot and could have successfully kicked all five shots to win this prize valued at $45,000, but doing so was against the rules. Chad made a fine effort, but will be paying his spring tuition from other means.

Cassady Pelphrey won a free Fast Lane Mud Warrior 4x4 motorized car!

Cassady Pelphrey, a seven-year-old girl from Garrettsville, successfully competed against two other community youths by throwing a paper wad into the front seat of a battery operated 4 x 4 toy car. Cassady celebrated triumphantly by climbing in the car and driving it off Holligner Court in Price Gym.

Sponsored by Paul's Do-It Best Lumber in Garrettsville, $150 value.

Other contests were held and fabulous door prizes were given away, and special activities for children were held at the Kids' Corner in Martin Fieldhouse.
